Steps to becoming a Board-approved Supervisor (BAS)

The training model for supervisors developed by STAP in 2004 is now the gold standard by which other supervision training and accreditation programs are measured against.

Part 1: Knowledge Assessment

A comprehensive online learning course improved over 21 years to provide you with foundational knowledge.

Part 2:  Skills Training Workshop

Two-day online or in person workshop focused on integrating supervisors’ knowledge and skills for better supervision. 

Part 3: Competency-based Assessment and Evaluation

Supervisory skills are assessed by experienced evaluators from a video-recorded session with a supervisee and submission of a reflective self-evaluation.
