Part 1: Knowledge Assessment

Participants will be provided with a range of readings, visual aids, and opportunities to reflect on the range of knowledge essential as the building blocks for becoming an effective supervisor.

For participants interested in becoming:


  • 5+1 internship program supervisors,
  • Registrar program leading to endorsement in an approved area of practice supervisors,
  • Higher degree practicum placements supervisors.

Goals:

  • Explain the context for supervision within the National Scheme,
  • Explore the role, expectations and responsibilities of the supervisor, as defined by the Board,
  • Discover the central components of effective supervision,
  • Consolidate the ability to apply this knowledge to example scenarios of supervision.

What to Expect

Participants work through a series of modules online to gain foundational knowledge. You are provided with a range of readings, visual aids, demonstration videos and opportunities to reflect on the range of knowledge essential as the building blocks for becoming an effective supervisor and attracts up to 10 CPD hours.

 Practice quizzes appear throughout each module, to help guide participants’ study and learning.
  Pause and Reflect points throughout the course provide opportunity to engage more with the material.
  A downloadable Learning Journal including learning activities, references and resources for each module provides a resource to keep for future reference and use in your supervision work.
  15 question, multiple-choice Knowledge Assessment is required to be passed before continuing to the next module. Each Knowledge Assessment and requires a minimum 85% to pass. Multiple attempts are permitted and the assessment is not timed. 
  The timeline for successfully completing Part 1 - Knowledge Assessment online modules, attendance at a 2-Day Skills Training Workshop (Part 2) and submission of an Evaluation video (Part 3) is 6 months.
